HOW WE WORK

Precision Fabricated. Professionally Installed.

A balustrade is one of the most visible elements of any property — it needs to look exceptional and perform structurally for decades. At Steelrite, we fabricate every balustrade to exact site dimensions, specify the right materials for your environment, and install with the precision and care the finished product deserves.

We conduct a detailed site measurement and work with you to confirm the design, material specification, and finish. Whether you need stainless steel, glass infill panels, or a combination of both — we advise on the best solution for your space and environment.

Every balustrade is fabricated in our Cape Town workshop to exact site dimensions. Posts, handrails, and infill panels are precision-cut, welded, and finished before delivery — ensuring a clean, consistent result on installation.

Our installation team anchors, aligns, and fits every component with care. All fixings are sealed, glass panels are secured to specification, and the completed installation is inspected before handover.

Glass Options & Specifications

The right glass for your application, environment, and design intent. We advise on the best specification for every balustrade project.

The most common choice for balustrades. Heat-treated to be 4–5x stronger than standard glass. If it breaks, it shatters into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards — making it the standard safety specification for residential and commercial balustrades.

Two or more glass layers bonded with a PVB interlayer. If broken, the glass holds together rather than shattering — preferred for overhead applications, high-traffic commercial spaces, and where extra security is required.

Toughened glass with a sandblasted or acid-etched finish for privacy without sacrificing light. Popular for bathroom balconies, office partitions, and interior balustrades where privacy is needed.

Standard glass has a slight green tint. Low-iron glass has a higher clarity and a true transparent appearance — preferred for high-end residential and commercial projects where visual clarity matters.

Available in grey, bronze, or blue tints. Reduces glare and heat transmission while adding a distinctive aesthetic. Popular for commercial facades, contemporary residential designs, and outdoor entertainment areas where privacy and style are equally important.
